Boutique England  promises to deliver 100% genuine and premium quality leather products to all its customers. Leather type may vary from one product to another due to specialized processing and treatment but steps to preserve your favorite leather goods are simple. By applying basic care tips, you will not only retain the quality and shine of the product but also will treasure it for decades to come.

Proper cleaning, conditioning and storage will keep leather looking as good as new no matter how old it is. Follow the suggested steps and prolong the life and beauty of your leather products.

STEP 1:CLEANING
Use a clean cloth and the leather cleaner of your choice to eliminate surface dirt and grease. If the leather product is extremely soiled then it may require more than one cleaning treatment to remove dirt or grease. Always use natural and non-toxic cleaning products.

Stains:
For newer liquid stains other than oil stains, immediately use a damp absorbent cloth and wipe or blot the excess liquid away. Don,t let the product soak in liquid. Let it dry at room temperature. Never put your leather garments in the dryer.

Stains from oily substances can often be lifted off by sprinkling powdered chalk on the area and letting it set overnight. Use a light brush or cloth to scrape the powder residue after a reasonable time. Do not rub the powder residue in.

Lighter stains can often be masked by treating the article with leather oil since it will darken the overall color of your leather product upon application. For oil treatment, always test for colorfastness and effect on a discrete area to make sure you get desirable results. It may take 7 days for final color variation to show up after oil treatment.

Some old leather stains such as oil, wax and blood, may come off when treated with a little soap and water.

Serious stains that appear to be well set into the product may be irreparable. In this case, your best option would be to consult a local leather specialist or cleaner who may be able to offer some suggestions about professional cleaning options.

Odour:
Leather can be stubborn about holding on to odors. Firstly, try to eliminate odors by hanging baking soda pouch in the same cupboard / drawer as the leather product for a couple of days. Baking soda has the capability to absorb odors. You may also lightly spray freebreeze in the cupboard / drawer before placing it in and keep the product in for a while. If these two remedies do not work then you may have to locate a leather specialist or cleaner in your area who can remove the odor.

Mold or Mildew:
Leather may get exposed to mild mold or mildew due to moisture or improper storage. Mild vinegar and water solution kills mold at the root. Once you have eliminated the mold, you will want to immediately treat the article with leather oil to restore the necessary natural oils. Leather oil treatment will also provide protection from future mold and mildew problems.

STEP 2:CONDITIONING
Use leather conditioner specific to your product,s leather type. Condition the leather to replace its lost oils and lubricants. With proper conditioning, you can restore your leather's shine and beauty, rejuvenate it and bring it back to life. Use leather conditioner immediately after cleaning it with soap and water or leather cleaner. Leather conditioner can be applied once every 3 to 6 months.

STEP 3:STORAGE
Storing leather properly when it is not being used is the most important thing you can do to keep it in its best condition. Storing leather requires some special consideration to help keep it in good shape and well protected. You should store your leather in an airy, cool, dry area that is not too hot or cold and certainly not excessively dry or humid The storage should be darkened to avoid direct sunlight as direct sunlight can dry and fade the leather. Always use padded hangers to help preserve the shape of your item and if you choose to cover the item use a breathable cloth like a cotton sheet. Do not enclose it for long periods of time in plastic since it will dry the item out.
